LEAP Housing’s Workforce Housing 101 is a free statewide training initiative designed to help Idaho communities understand and take action on workforce housing challenges.
Whether you're in a booming city or a small rural town, this training gives you and your community the tools you need to create or preserve housing for local workers.
Why Workforce Housing?
Communities across Idaho—from Meridian to McCall to Montpelier—are struggling to recruit and retain workers because housing costs have outpaced local wages. Businesses, schools, hospitals, police departments, and ski resorts alike are feeling the pinch.
Workforce housing—affordable homes for teachers, mechanics, welders, health care workers, and more—is vital to a thriving local economy. But developing these homes takes more than good intentions. It takes knowledge, strategy, and collaboration.
